The guidelines provide guidance for the used car sellers regarding their obligations under the consumer sales law. Most importantly, it clarifies the liability of the seller for the defects of a used car. Moreover, it also specifies what kind of pre-contractual information the seller is obliged to provide to the consumers. The guidelines stress that if the seller gives a sales guarantee, it should put the consumer in a better position compared to the one under the sales law.
