Ordinance No. 2005-136 of 17 February 2005 that transposes into French Law Directive 1999/44/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 25 May 1999 on certain aspects of the sale and guarantees of consumer goods.

This study evokes the genesis of this Ordinance, which aroused sometimes heated doctrinal debates, and tries to analyse the contents and the consequences of this text on the commercial relations between professionals and consumers.
