The article focuses on the latest amendment to Act No. 526/1990 Coll., on Prices, which brought the regulation of Directive 98/6/EC into Czech law. It analyses the proposed measures and conditions for negotiating prices, particularly prices for thermal energy. The article also tries to find an answer whether or not each price of goods on the market is equal to the sum of the authorised economic costs and reasonable profits after adding taxes and other charges, as stipulated by the Directive.
