Most often, travellers conclude contracts through travel agencies, regardless of whether they pay for travel packages, excursions, or book accommodation and other services in the office or through the online system, well before the planned start of the trip. It can be assumed that not all travellers will be able to realise the mentioned paid services of the travel agency because 1) some will cancel the trip (due to illness of them personally or a family member, due to business obligations, etc.), 2) the travel agency will change their travel programme,  cancel the reservation, or increase the price of the trip,  3) the services specified in the contract or the quality expected will not be provided, or 4) due to illness or injury the passenger will have to terminate the stay, etc.

Of course, all of the above situations can happen to any passenger, and then when faced with an unplanned and unforeseen event, passengers are in doubt as to whom to turn to, what their rights are, and how to properly address their problems regarding said trip.
